Oh, thats pretty odd because the video ad has been removed and i will check this to ensure the sound is either totally reduced or kept at bare minimum.
It continues to crop up all the time with Rahi, Anna Hazare, Imitiaz Ali, Rock star and so on. It's quite loud too. Sreen shot attached

Earlier the admin complied with a 'mute' option for the volume, and a lot of us were
happy with that. The screenshot at that time would have shown a speaker icon crossed by a red line. So, if the advertiser wanted it back, it would have been nice and courteous to the forum members if there was a posting to the effect that you regret to have to revert to the original 'sound' version. ( May be, add 'under pressure from the advertiser'?)
What best you can do? Here is one solution: At least, for people who request the 'mute' option, the website can recognize the member's id and mute the volume.

This is impossible. Most of the times it is not under my control. There is an agency who does the ads. And what ads run, which advertiser is not something that i have access to, at this moment.

I see now that it was not impossible.
I find this video annoying. I joined the forum only yesterday. I find that the video starts playing every time the page loads even after muting the sound or pausing the play.
I am unable to read the postings or to type replies due to this disturbance.
As one who runs websites of my own, I know ads are necessary but the ads should not send the visitor away from the main contents of the site.
I have an additional problem with this video. The Adobe Flash Player notification comes up again and again even after I did the settings allowing more storage space.
Now I thought to watch the video in full before start typing this reply. The video finished and stopped. Then I started typing my reply. When I finished typing and clicked on Post Quick Reply, I got a warning that I have no permission to post. That is, my login has timed out.
It would be nice to have a static image or even animated GIF or better text ad than Video. Another alternative is, if it has to be a video, it could be inserted on the homepage only.
