I request you to appropriately report in the media about the difficulties faced by disabled persons in the following two areas in specific :
1) Disabled persons are issued National Identity Card by Government of India through State Governments concerned. These are issued after the disabled persons having undergone extensively all the required medical tests as prescribed by government in government general hospitals. Therefore, these cards are an authentic one. There cannot be any second thought over it. However, it is not accepted as an identity at railways when disabled persons book tickets on concessional quota. Railways prescribe their own form. These disabled persons go through extensive tests for getting this form signed by government hospital doctors once again. When governemnt of india card is not recognised by railways, what purpose of it being issued? Again and again, disabled persons are put to difficulties. This needs to be corrected. Persons having national identity card must be allowed to produce the same for getting railway concession tickets at counters.

2) Another issue is that Railways offer internet booking for all. In the internet booking menu, there are provisions for quota under ladies, general. There is no provision for disabled persons to book their tickets under their quota. If the disabled persons want to book tickets through internet booking, they have to book under general quota thus depriving themselves of concession offered by railways. If they want to avail concession, they necessarily have to go to railway counters in person and book tickets there only. When interbooking is open to all normal healthy persons who enjoy booking tickets at their comfort, why not disabled persons avail the same facility which would reduct their physical burden of going in person to railway counters.

I request you report of these issues appropriately to reach the public to creat awareness amongst them and railways too.
