Mr Sethumurugan is right. The hotels mentioned by him in the highway are good and cheap.

Thank you BSK. I request ppl to try these and enjoy the food..

and I would like some one tell me is there any parotta kadai like how we have in madurai. Here all parrota stalls are nogiving proper chalna.. the one which they give is full of cheap grade coocunut nothing else. it wont be spicy and also it will create lot of problems next day.

it is not in the case of challnas available in madurai parotta shops. and also the parrottas made there is differtn from what we get here.

Basically am from madurai and got settled in chennai 20 yrs back. from then am searching for some like that.

    Did someone post:
    1. VEGNATION at Thiruvanmiyur Signal
    2. THE ROCK at Adyar

These would be a best option for "Budget".

    Thanks,
    JC

Vegnation is just OK. few North Indian dishes are good. but expensive. South Indian items are as usual only. they do not have Chettinad or Andhra dishes. If do not see ambiance and ony taste then go and try VIP Hotel opp to Old Ajantha Hotel Royapettah flyover. North India tems taste is authentic. but you need to order 2 items at a time. because they take time to cook.

Yes compared to Bangalore or Hyderabad it is expensive. Chennai does not have authentic North Indian or Punjabi vegetarian except one or two. one is Vellore Daba other is in Anna nagar.
