Why don't you start your own forum for education or job opportunity and if it is free you will be making great a success. This forum is a discussion forum for people who like and love Chennai. Most members are past the education stage and many are retired and are not looking for jobs.

You will be wasting your energy trying to educate already educated people and trying find jobs for people who don't need jobs anymore. You seem to have an enormous anxiety to educate and find jobs for people. The net is full of online educations sites and job offers. Turning Chennai forums into one will fail miserably.

Try posting educational news for the benefit of those few who might seek such.

You do not need a 5 posts to start a topic. You must have been trying to something else - probably send a message to somebody or post an advertisement or link to someother site.

I tried to post a test ad in Ads & Offers section. I got a message that it needs moderator permission before it could appear.

yes, ads and offers section mostly requires approval of threads. this is to prevent spam adverts and spammers having a gala time.

Also, there are certain restrictions in place primarily to deter spammers and those members who post junk things just to bypass the private message limit. What happens is, once they cross the number of posts required for private messages, they start spamming other members.

So, right after @balakmu mentioned about the restriction, i went and changed the values. Now sending a private message or links/images need a decent number of posts.

Otherwise this place would be run over by spammers before we know it
