At a time minors are taking to roads with powerful two and four wheelers, the following organizations/individuals have come together in a bid to sensitize society on this dangerous and widespread menace:

  • Multidec, a Chennai-based Nutrition Company
  • Indian Red Cross Society - TN Chapter &
  • Sri.Abirami Ramanathan-President,Tamilnadu Theatre Owner’s Federation

Unfortunately parents, teachers seem equally and absolutely helpless in curbing this practice. All norms are flouted on the sly and everything goes in the name of fun until a mishap that snuffs out lives endangering not only the offender, but also the other innocent, law-abiding road users.

The aforesaid organizations/individuals propose to conduct an Inter collegiate short-film competition JOSH 2012 that can mobilize public opinion against underage driving.

The competition is open to all college students of any branch of study within Tamilnadu & Pondicherry. As on date,they have received 71 entries from 25 Colleges.

The panel will consist of eminent persons and experts in film related areas. The decision of the Jury will be final and binding on all the entrants.

The first three best entries will be awarded Rs.50,000 + a trophy, Rs.25,000 + a trophy and Rs.15,000 + a trophy respectively.

Films made on 3D format will be awarded an Additional Rs..25,000.

The final date for the submission of the film is 22nd Feb 2012

The selected films will be screened in selected theatres across Tamil Nadu, leading TV channels and online forums.
