Thread: Chennai Pubs to close early

The AIADMK govt has made it mandatory that pubs should be shut down even earlier than before. Previously all pubs closed at 11pm. Now most are closing at 10pm itself.

that would be pretty sad.. as pubbing groove generally starts after 10 pm as a hangout spot for party music lovers or to have a casual outing.. thou in a good way the above rule would ensure security..

Pubbing and grooving is a highly western culture. In UK there are enough marriage breakups and other problems due to Binge drinking. We really do not want to encourage that in Chennai.

An overdose of anything is always harmful.. its jus a personal interest and varies from person to person.. one has to be aware of his personal strenghts and limits.. most of the problems would end there..

Everything that starts with a small dose

Everything that starts with a small dose has more often ended up with overdoses. The traditional India’s own Bharatha Natyam has quietly given its place to pop or rock as you can see in most Indian movies.

I have witnessed people throwing down as many glasses of beer at 10.45 pm because the pub closes at 11.00 pm. They crawled out of pubs with the strength of all fours and their problems just started when the wives won't let them in, until they sobered up.

Though one is free to do what he or she likes and the interests vary from person to person, common sense would tell most problems have started in India when we deviated from our own culture.

The following information would tell even the British have begun to call it Trash Culture. If pubbing and grooving amuses me alone it most probably won’t amuse my wife or children. If I live just for myself in this world it should be ok to me even if the pubs are kept 24/7.

One can go ahead and please him or she the way they want, that’s a thing even God can’t stop.

tats very sad... am not sure why it always happens in TN government.. north side people are really having a good pubbing all over night... any suggestion on good pubs in chennai guys?
