Bangalore, May 18 (ANI): In his quest of better luck through vaastu shastra, tainted former Karnataka Chief Minister, BS Yeddyurappa today inaugurated his new office in Bangalore. Even though yesterday, the CBI, in search for evidence against him, raided his offices and homes, Yeddyurappa performed a puja at his new office, today. Denying that his new office would serve as a parallel power center, Yeddyurappa said that it was merely intended for better accessibility to his party members, and common people.

Mumbai, May 18 (ANI): After the alleged drunken brawl by Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shahrukh Khan with the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA), the actor has been banned from entering Mumbai s Wankhede Stadium for five years today. The head of the MCA, Vilasrao Deshmukh, announced the decision after stating that the actor had "shown no regrets for his action and behaviour, but in fact, he justified his actions." However, the final call has been left to the BCCI.

New Delhi, May 18 (ANI): Zohal Hamid, the US citizen who was allegedly molested by IPL Royal Challengers Bangalore cricketer Luke Pomersbach today alleged that the player tried to kiss her and punched her fiance several times after they refused to have a drink with him. Zohal added that she felt "uncomfortable" by the "dirty, nasty looks" of the cricketer and told her fiance that he could have drinks with him if he wished.

New Delhi, May 18 (ANI): Commenting on his Royal Challengers Bangalore squad player Luke Pomersbach, franchise owner Vijay Mallya has said that the RCB regrets the whole incident involving him and will fully cooperate with the concerned authorities so that fair investigation could be done. Condemning the incident, BJP leader and former cricketer Kirti Azad has said that this was the only incident left to be seen in IPL. Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association president Dr. Farooq Abdullah also said that strict action must be taken against the accused.

Meanwhile, terming the incident as "unfortunate" Union Minister Farooq Abdullah today advised the Bollywood superstar to be a little more calmer. FM announces new austerity measures

New Delhi, May 18 (ANI): Indicative of the tough days for the economy ahead, the Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today announced new austerity measures aimed at reducing government expenditure. The measures include putting a blanket ban on buying new vehicles by the government, besides imposing curbs on holding workshops/meetings by government officials at five star hotels. Foreign trips by government officials will also be restricted, as part of the new initiative. However, Mukherjee assured that there was no need to press the "panic button".

New Delhi, May 18 (ANI): NCP Chief Sharad Pawar has pulled up party leader and former Lok Sabha speaker PA Sangma for projecting himself as a Presidential candidate. Having being summoned for a meeting by Pawar at his residence in New Delhi, Sangama was asked not to advertise his name as a possible candidate for the post of the president as the party does not have sufficient number to back their candidate. Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting, NCP General Secretary Devi Prasad Tripathi cleared the party s stance by saying that as coalition partners in the UPA, the party would support any candidate proposed by the Congress.

Commenting over the arrest of the RCB player Luke Pomersbach, Sinha said that cricketers should not be a part of rave parties post matches. However, Union Law minister, Salman Khurshid has said that IPL is the product of the new era and is enjoyed by fans worldwide. CPI(M) leader, Sitaram Yechury has said that it was unfair to exempt the IPL tournament from tax duties and it was an injustice to the other forms of sports.

Mamata calls for reconsideration of SRK ban

Kolkata/Srinagar, May 19 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, appealed to the authorities to reconsider the five year ban on actor and KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan, which prevents him from entering the Wankhede Stadium following an alleged brawl with MCA officials. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, urged the Indian cricket board and sports authorities not to ignore such incidents.
